The event is being run in partnership with Shooting Star Chase to raise funds for their Children’s Hospice Care. Activities include traditional fête games (Pick-a-Lolly, Coin Rolling and Hook-a-Duck), story-telling, face painting, garden treasure hunt, giant garden games (Jenga, Noughts & Crosses, Dominoes and Connect 4) and, of course, the “Most Original Teddy Bear Competition” which will be judged by Guildford’s Deputy Mayor. There will also be children’s gifts and clothing for sale. The house will be open for those who want to soak up a little history in the Elizabethan great hall. Families are welcome to bring their own picnic (and blanket!) but there will be freshly made pizzas from Caper & Berry’s mobile pizza oven, a Peroni & Pimm’s bar for the adults and tempting treats for the children. The family-friendly event runs from 11am to 5pm and we have an indoor wet-weather option, our beautiful Tithe Barn, so you won’t need to change your plans should it be wet on the day!
